I have two other memories of the Holly Road place. Before we ever met you, and before Carol and I started our family we were in Santa Barbara visiting Robert on the Fourth of July. From the Holly Road house we watched the fireworks down at the pier. Then, in the early eighties the Enns family Christmas was held up there. A huge Pacific storm hit California the same day that we traveled over the Grapevine, over to the coast, through Santa Barbara, and ended up with us fighting the wind and rain as we inched up the last climb up to the house. We enjoyed the rest of the winter show as if we were in the clouds, as we actually were up there. A Christmas to remember! Great memories in this essay, Uli.
